Okie, heres the low down.
First off, this site has been closed for quite some time, and after a very long hiatus, the owner, and one of my best friends ever, is looking to try and get it back up and running. The problem... We need to find some new members to help populate this amazing rpg again. But there are a few things to know, but you shouldn't be scared of them. We are very welcoming and will gladly help you get on your feet
First thing you should know, this is an intermediate rpg, it is also, only appropriate for players aged 13 and up, for several reasons, mainly being that it can be very graphic as far as violence, language, and other stuff that can be too much for sensitive eyes, though the more obviously mature content is not allowed on public threads. Secondly, we also require a high school level writing skill. It doesn't have to be amazing, but your posts should be at least two strong paragraphs.
As far as writing skill goes, we don't require huge paragraphs for each and every post you make. Two good paragraphs is very acceptable. Don't be frightened away by the larger posts that our more veteran players show -- they've been role playing here a long time, and their skill reflects that. Role playing here, and observing how others role play is a good way to gain inspiration for your own posts, and improve on your own writing. I myself... Use to RP like poop. But I was still welcome, and the game was great! I eventually worked up to being able to write 3-4 paragraph posts (AT LEAST) very consisitantly. Though I think my longest post there was around 11-12 good paragraphs... But then again, my characters has a lot to do in that post x3
Profiles are another thing you shouldn't be scared of. We won't bite your head off if you can't write giant, mega descriptive profiles. Yes, a couple of players, including myself, go into severe detail in our profiles, and pretty much end up with rather huge ones. But two strong paragraphs for appearance descriptions, and one strong paragraph for personality descriptions is good enough to be accepted. Well I believe it is optional, history is a good plus, as it not only buffs up your profile a bit, it also gives you a strong basis for your role playing, which is a huge benefit when you are trying to think of what to do with your character.
Nextly, the whole premise of the rpg is nothing to be afraid of. Yes, it is highly unique, yes, it may take some getting used to, but hey. Better than joining a million wolf rpgs that always feel the same xD What exactly is Fantasia based as? Its... A Marine RPG. As in fish, dolphins, whales, and other aquatic saltwater creatures, as well as Ilas, the species that is unique to the game, that can take the form of a long serpent like creature, as well as a mermaid like form, or alternatively, a very humanesque form.
No, this isn't a boring, swim around and be dull stupid fish rpg -- because these fish as intelligent as any human being, if not more. They are also very adept in magic, being able to use many different abilities, that are obtained either by birth, learning, killing another fish, or through a magical artifact. The abilities that fish are born with depend on what kind of animal they are. All Ilas are born with telepathy, telekinesis and the elemental magic that is aligned to the same element as the Ila's tail pendant. Sharks are born with regeneration, Mackerels are born with supersonic speed, and dolphins and mantas are gifted with teleportation, and the list goes on. While humans may see stupid dull fish, the ocean is full of intelligence, and magic.
And they, (particularly Ilas) aren't really that different from humanoids. They live in cities, they have work, they go to school, they worship their univeral religion (Iyetmo), they marry, have families, and much things that you'd expect from a normal human society.
And come on. Don't you dare tell me you've never wanted to RP a dolphin before. Or a penguin. Or a manta.
Also, don't worry about our information database, which is rather huge, earning it the title of library. While there is some stuff in there that is important to read, like rules, general information, plot information, stuff on how magic, technology and other stuff like that you may need to read, but a lot of it is also just excess stuff for the sake of interest, like Ila Fashion, technology info, and some other random stuff. We also have a newbie guide set up, to help give you what is important, so you won't have to dig to find everything you need.
Well... Thats a lot of things to keep in mind. What I need, is people who may be interested in joining, once the site gets back up. Right now, the owner is currently in the process of getting a domain for the site... So then there will be a site to join up on. The rpg will still need some considerable work before actual rping will start, but it's amazing. If you are a role player looking for a unique RPG experience, Fantasia is for you. Do post, or message me if you are interested, though keep in mind the age limit.
