~Banner by RainThere are so many disasters in the world... Tsunamis, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Earthquakes, Fires, Floods... And even the disasters originated by people themselves, rather than nature. So much suffering and pain; This giveaway is to honor those who have fallen victim to disaster. To honor both the survivors, and the countless dead. To honor the bravery of the heroes who seek to help those victims. Just post here (in RP form is preferred; length not important) as yourself or one of your characters. A gift will be given after the event. This will close on the 26th. ~~~In an area between the locations of the two shrines lies a serene lake, undisturbed by those who would do it harm. In the moonlit night a sad song begins, a tune of woe, despair, regret, but also one of love and hope. The source from which the melody eminates seems to be the trees surrounding the place, crying out in a symbiotic voice that filled the air and ground.
Small paper boats lined the shore of the lake, each holding a single candle. The waters of the lake flow toward the opposite shore, where a monolith stands. Upon the smooth marble surface are etched the names of those who have suffered, millions upon millions of names.
It is the night of rememberance; but, for those boats to float across the lake, they need to be placed on it. The song calls far and wide, beckoning to all. Beckoning for those who would honor the lost.

Black walks tword the lake. With Violet sitting on his shoulder. Though once in the area Violet hops to the ground so she can send one off. They having herd the call to this place as they were leaving Umbreon's shrine and heading in the direction of Espeon's. Once they reach the Lake. The two stop at the Stone and prey for the names. Once done the two head over to the paper boats. Black is the first to take a paper boat. Then Violet picks one up. Once they each have one they head over to the lake and send them off. In remembrance of those who have died due to natures fury. As the boats float out onto the Lake. Black and Violet step back so others may approach the lake. But they stay here. Who knows even if they can't see or sense them. The spirits of those who died may be here tonight. And they might be happy that someone is around for them. Even if that person isn't a family member. Seeing the others show up and sing some kind of song or prayer. They decide to do a song as well. Black pulls out a guitar and violet takes point to sing the song. On his shoulder. they being to play a song together.
Little boy, 6 years old A little too used to bein' alone Another new mom and dad, another school Another house that'll never be home When people ask him how he likes this place He looks up and says with a smile upon his face
"This is my temporary home It's not where I belong Windows and rooms that I'm passin' through This is just a stop, on the way to where I'm going I'm not afraid because I know this is my Temporary Home."
During the singing a scene seems to start taking place on the lake like a psychic movie of some sort. It's Black's Aura powers flaring up subconsciously and he doesn't even notice it. A Movie of a six year old kid losing his parents to Natural Disaster. And his life afterwards moving from foster home to foster home. Until he makes a family of his own and passes away of old age.
Young mom on her own She needs a little help got nowhere to go She's lookin' for a job, lookin' for a way out Because a half-way house will never be a home At night she whispers to her baby girl Someday we'll find a place here in this world
"This is our temporary home It's not where we belong Windows and rooms that we're passin' through This is just a stop, on the way to where we're going I'm not afraid because I know this is our Temporary Home.
The Scene this time is of a young mother and her baby losing everything in a Hurricane. Including her husband and the baby's father. And as she struggles to live on with her life. And slowly begins to make things better for her daughter and herself until mother passes away of age 45 years later surrounded by her grandchildren
Old man, hospital bed The room is filled with people he loves And he whispers don't cry for me I'll see you all someday He looks up and says "I can see God's face"
"This is my temporary Home It's not where I belong Windows and rooms that I'm passin' through This was just a stop,on the way To where I'm going I'm not afraid because I know this was My temporary home."
This is our temporary home
The final scene is of a joyful old grandfather surrounded by his family. They all look sad but understand it's his time. So the old man passes away and his family grieves and moves on. The grandson stops however and turns so it seems like he is staring at the people gathered at the lake for a moment almost as if he can see the mourner's and wants to say thanks.

Winfry was amongst the first people to follow the tune of the trees, a sandshew sitting on her shoulder and a buizel padding alongside her. The surface of the quiet lake was smooth and glassy, catching the light of the moon above. For a moment, the space maniac stopped and stared, trying to count the craters on the reflection.
A monolith sat on the other side of the lake, glossy marble surface honoring the names of the millions and millions of people whom had suffered throughout time. Winfry, being a rather emotional person, felt rather sad yet hopeful at the same time.
Storm, the buizel, had trotted along the line of boats. Corvus, the sandshrew, trotted after her, picking out a boat near dead center of the long line. Winfry followed them after taking in the sight with her big coppery eyes, and knelt down beside the little boat. The candle burned fiercly, being a little smaller than the rest but still just as strong. She took off her backpack and withdrew a notebook and a pencil. She wrote something, ripped the strip from the piece of paper, and placed the notebook back in her pack and her pack back on her back.
She wrapped the little piece of paper around the candle, and took one of Corvus's chipped scales that was about ready to fall off. CLipping the little roll of paper together with it, she picked up the boat and placed it on the surface of the lake, gently so that only a few faint ripples disturbed the surface.
With a slight nudge, the current took the little paper boat sailing across the lake, the calling music the trees exuded making the scene rather.. Emotional. The little light blue boat sailed across the reflection of the big moon, as though it had journeyed there and wanted to go farther. And it did.
The little boats silvery design glittered, little pink petals seeming to fly slowly around the little boat. Tiny green vines sometimes peeped up from underwater, though it could pass for an illusion as they dissappeared quickly. The little flame burned brightly, holding strong throughout the entire voyage.
As it came to a stop at the other bank, the little flame grew stronger. It reflected off the surface of the marble as the other boat's flames did, shining proudly in the silver light of the moon and stars.
At that point, Winfry was sitting cross-legged and holding the little twilight buizel close to her, while Corvus sat inbetween her feet. They all had their eyes closed and their heads facing the sky, as though they were praying.
And they were.
What had been written on that little sheet of paper?
The pen is mightier than the sword..... I'm sorry for all of those who had to die for one reason or another, and for those who suffer greatly still... May you rest in the best of peace.

(xD The banner wasn't that bad)
Rain walked over to a rock by the lake and sat on it. Seeing all the other people around him... Rain, was very sad, for, why did people die? What was the reason? They have friends and family, why take that away? Remembering that he had no parents, friends or family anymore, it was all gone...
Nidoran, looking at Rain seeing him so sad cuddled up to him. "Sir, don't ever leave me?" "Captain, I want to pay my ressssspectsssss, may I do so? "Yes go ahead" Rain, who still had questions in his head, Rain got on his knees and yelled in a scared voice. "Why! WHY, must people die? They didn't do anything they deserve to live!!!!!!!" Rain feel to the ground shaking.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The paw print of the Suicune on his hand started to burn, Maybe this is what its like to love, and respect and question those who have died? Rain though... "Guys lets go put a boat in for EVERYBODY who's died okay?" "Okay, sir." Yesssss, letssss make it out to Haiti?" Yes, Rain was sure this is what is was like to feel the pain and sorrow, of those who did nothing to deserve the evil gift of Heaven & Hell. It's not fair, no.... It's very well isn't. Rain put his arms around his two very Pokemon, he can call friend.... Rain began to sing Amazing Grace; Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now I see.
T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved. How precious did that Grace appear The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come; 'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far and Grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me. His word my hope secures. He will my shield and portion be, As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess within the veil, A life of joy and peace.
When we've been here ten thousand years Bright shining as the sun. We've no less days to sing God's praise Than when we've first begun.
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now I see.
He then began to sing the other version (His Favorite song)
"Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)"
Amazing grace How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, but now I'm found Was blind, but now I see 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear And grace my fears relieved How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed My chains are gone I've been set free My God, my Savior has ransomed me And like a flood His mercy rains Unending love, Amazing grace
The Lord has promised good to me His word my hope secures He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow The sun forbear to shine But God, Who called me here below Will be forever mine Will be forever mine You are forever mine (Nice setting Ash ^.^)

Din was much of one to show many emotions around those who he hadn't known. He didn't find it as a necessity to live a normal life to have to show many emotions. However it was something else for when family and close friend vanished. He was one to blame himself mainly, he felt that many things that didn't involve him were his fault. It was a curse to be him in times of tragic happenings.
"Rest in Peace..."
He became silent as a tear ran down his face for those who have fallen in any tragic event. He considered everyone family, unless something they did made him think other wise. However today was a day to remember those who had fallen, a day to celebrate their life and not mourn their deaths. A tear for ever man, women and child who paid when they didn't have to.
((Nice Setting))

Gentle fingers carressed the paper boat, carefully ensuring that it didn't crumple or fold. The candle inside it flickered slightly in the wind, but a pale hand curled around it, harbouring it from the wind. Raven looked out over the serene lake, and the flickering of a thousand candles. Sad, mourning music drifted across the lake, and the mroph closed her eyes for a few minutes, letting the sound wash over her. Shadow and Waveur balanced a boat carefully on their heads, marching solemnly down to the lake. They carefully pushed their boats out onto the clear lake, watching them sail gracefully across the surface of serenity. Then, they turned and moved silently away to wait for their trainer to finish paying her respects. Pale fingers carressed the paper note, and slipped it carefully between the candle and the side of the boat. It was a simple message, to honour those whom had suffered in the many natural disasters that raged through this world, and any other. The moon is bright, the stars are shining On the soft meadows of whispering grass Rest, sleep, let no worries trouble you now On the plains of gold and brass
The world you left behind is mourning now For the destruction, the blood and gore Soon you'll lie forgotten there, a whisper on the wind Here you'll be remembered forever more
A simple song is on the breeze Dancing in your ears Played by elves and dragon-kin It will wipe away your tears
Now the time is right to go To leave that earth behind Come now here to the simple land Perfect in your mind
The moon is bright, the stars are shining On the soft meadows of whispering grass Rest, sleep, let no worries trouble you now On the plains of gold and brass

Lexcy made her way toward the lake, Nightly keeping close to his maters side. Blue eyes swept over the various people gathered. Lexcy moved through them and picked up a few of the boats and cradled them in her arms. "I wish you luck on your new journey, where ever that may be"
She bent down to the lake and gently let each boat roll on to the surface of the lake, taking care not to let the light go out. With each one passing though her hand she gave a soft prayer. As the last one slipped past her finger tips she sat back and recited a small poem.
for those of tossed and turbulence we sing thy grace and pray for rest and ease and happiness do come thy vexed way
little soul of lost and wondering do lie thy weary head for your time hath come and gone now and your story has doth been read ~Lynn Connor

Brook was quiet as she arrived, taking a few boats, and placing them carefully on the water. She watched them go sadly, humming a sorrowful tune as they drifted away.

Neko gazed upon the still waters of the lake, imagining the faces of all those who had suffered in such tragic events. Each and every face seemed to hold a different thought, a different prayer. Men, Women, Children, and all that they held dear to them. Loved ones wept for the lost, as the spirits of the deceased wandered to a more peaceful place away from the earth upon we walked upon. The lake might as well have been filled with the tears of the mourning, and the stars reflected on the surface, the spirits of the victims.
This was a night of rememberance. A night to preserve the memory of all those who had fallen to tragic unexpected events, and for those who had mourned, and rescued them. It was a night to think back and be grateful for what you have, knowing that at any minute, your life could shatter into a million shards, It was night to mourn for the loss of others, and a night to reflect upon your own choices in life. Would you die now knowing that you lived your life to the fullest, with no regrets?
Honor those who died Honor those who mourn Honor those who rescued

A girl born from phantasms and ephemeral wisp appeared upon the scene of such tragic beauty. Her coming was from the direction opposite of all others who had arrived, for she sought solitude on the eve of such sorrow. As was her way she moved silently, the only sound she made was the soft brushing of fine silk against the high reeds by the lake. She truly did look like a forlorn spirit that had come back to walk the earth, remembering, regretting, and lamenting all that which she lost. Her clothing did nothing to dissuade any who would think such from that thought either.
That which she wore was a Kimono of the purest white, the hems decorated with small hand stitched forget-me-not flowers. It was her way of showing her respects for those lost to suffering and to the many who had passed on during tragedy. As the moon bathed her in his pale light Kagami made her way to a part of the lake that was not disturbed by others in their lamentations. A series of rocks that stuck out of the water where her target and when she came to them it was with ease that she climbed them. Like a ballet dancer she stepped over onto each rock with a gentle jump and push off one foot until she was on the largest, most low laying of the stones.
With a flick of her wrists and a sweep of her arms she fanned out her skirts, arranging her pristine Kimono around her in halo of white. The glossy strands of her pale hair only added to the scene. She looked like a child of the moon fallen from the sky and the expression on her face was heart breaking as she made her next move. From within the voluminous sleeves of her Kimono she procured a tiny boat of the exact make of the ones now gliding along the glass like surface of the lake. With slender fingers and careful movements she set it gently on the water, her fingers lingering in the empty center where a candle was supposed to be. From the digits sprung blue fire, the small burning orb hovering in the crook of the tiny boat like a lost soul ready to be ferried to the after life.
A soul crushing smile graced the womans lips and her brows furrowed with sorrow. Crystalline tears began to form in her eyes and fall only to splash into the lake before her, creating tiny ripples in their wake. It was with silent reverence she shed them and it was honored quiet that she gently nudged the boat towards the monolith. While she had no loved ones that had recently passed that she needed to lament for it was for all those who had passed, suffered, lost, and died did she mar her cheeks with liquid pain.
With a soundless understanding that someone her age should not possess the woman sat and watched, trying valiantly not to be overwhelmed. For the world of the dead was desperately close to the world of the living, the souls of those whose times had ended all too briefly crying out to any who would hear. And Kagami heard them, all one hundred thousand lifetimes worth of them.

Haiti…
My eyes take in the view:
Poverty in all her glory…
Burning tires and refuse,
Piled trash along the roads,
Garbage rivers running
through the sewage bordered streets…
But it’s not these sights that register;
my heart is blind to this… (Poem)

Silence, somber and sweet, Flowing along this river of souls. The echoes of the lost, Ringing through the crystalline night. Glimmering upon the surface, Flickering bright and soft. The prayers sail across in vessels of hope, Eminating from the gathered throng. Crossing to the glinting marble, A light to the spirits left behind. Love to one and all, Upon them great blessings fall.

Honored are these strugglers, Fighters against the dark arts Donna walked up to the area, bowing her head in a quick prayer. Eevee trotted along at her side as she picked up one of the paper boats, the Pokemon grabbing one in his mouth as well. Together, they walked to the pond and set the ships down, lighting the candles. Setting them adrift, both lowered their heads once again in prayer, tears trickling from their eyes. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He bids me to lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
