Oh no!!!
That's right, more rules! These rules focus on the basics of this roleplay. It covers everything from character creation to the different places your character can visit. Enjoy, and it will be over quicker than you think!
To begin with, you will need to create a character to be able to roleplay on this forum. To do so, you must first visit the Character Applications sub-board (located in the character board). Create a new thread and fill out all of the required areas. One of the staff will look over your character and decide if it is adequate or not, and will tell you if it needs to be improved or if it is accepted. Once accepted, your account will be activated and then you may post your character in the main board.
While roleplaying be sure to stick with the personality of your character. In other words, if your character is shy do not post that they go and talk to all of the townsfolk for the fun of it, etc. Unless something happens that makes their personality change, it will stay the same.
As of now, you can create as many characters as you want, but only three Grim Member characters. This is to ensure things run more smoothly on the site. Do not take on more characters than you think you can handle. You must have a normal character before you can create a Grim character.
Each of your characters can have up to 6 Pokemon in their party at one time. Once the character obtains more than six Pokemon, they will go into their P.C. From there you can switch out Pokemon to and from your team. There is no limit to the amount of Pokemon in your PC. Also, your character can hold limitless items in their pack.
It is your responsibility to keep your Pokemon and pack updated. The character's current party and items are to be posted in their profile. Depending on what you find easier, you can either post the Party Pokemon all in one post, or you can separate them each into their own individual posts. Also, at the end of each month there will be a "pay day" in which every member can take the money from their Mini-profiles and add it to their total amount in their pack, but only for one of their characters.
Each character can only be in one place in the roleplay at one time. However, you can be in as many of the Other Places as you wish at any time. They offer a diversion from the normal roleplay, as well as chances to get rare Pokemon and items. Also, your characters cannot skip routes, unless it is stated that you can. Once your character has the HM Fly, or has a Pokemon that knows Fly, they can travel to any area that they have already been.
In the roleplay, try not to overdo time-forwarding. You may fast forward time if there is no point in playing it out. Like, going to sleep, etc. Mods can time-forward, but the same thing applies. DO NOT time-forward in the middle of a battle, or if there is any reason to keep going in the current time of the post. Be realistic about the advancement of time. For example, it would take at least a day to go through five routes. Try to connect it to real life capabilities.
Your character can travel with the character of someone else, even in a group (or with some of your own characters) but only as long as everyone involved agrees. In other words, you cannot just barge in on someone else's thread.
As stated above, you must keep your Pokemon up to date. However, Moderators will tell you when your Pokemon gains a level and when it can learn a new move. However, they may forget about the moves every once in a while. If you would like to check, you could always use Serebii's Pokedex.
You can not play any Pokemon, unless it is your own. In other words, you can not just make a Pokemon appear for you to battle. Mods will make all Pokemon appear and will control their actions until you capture them (if you capture them). However, you may make a Pokemon appear as long as your character doesn't interact with it and it disappears soon afterward. That is only so you can elongate your post if you are having trouble.
As with your human characters, make sure that your Pokemon's actions correspond to their personalities. Mods get to decide what the Pokemon's personality will be, an they will post it with that Pokemon's information.
Characters can be either normal humans or Pokemorphs. However, if you wish for your character to be a legendary Pokemorph, or an Umbreon/Espeon morph, they may not be accepted. Your Roleplay example and profile would have to be EXTREMELY good for me to even consider allowing you to use those pokemorphs. The same thing goes for making your character be a Pokemon.
When you start out, you cannot have any Pokemon. Not even a traveling companion that does not battle. You MAY, however, mention a Pokemon in your character's history or even have a family Pokemon (etc.) with you on your way to the lab, but they must go before you enter Nirven Town or Route One.
Also, for the sake of convenience, please provide a link to all of your character's profiles in your signature. If your signature is not big enough, then provide a link to a page that does contain links to all of your characters' profiles. You can shorten links at tinyurl.com.
Now for the secret word. This word must be posted in your Character Application in order for you to be accepted, and it must go after the word in the basic rules. The word is eats. Please put this in the section of your application that requires it. And I really do hope that you read the rules. There may be dire consequences if you do not follow them, so have a nice day!
