Scry didn't even have time to blink as the Demon Ponyta rushed at her. She was kicked back, but thankfully wasn't hurt too badly. This Pokemon had no fear, no hesitation. The Absol would have no choice but to go all out to defeat her opponent.
"I'm sorry, but even if she is your friend we have to stop her. There's nothing else we can do but fight", Xeni replied calmly to the Skitty's whimpering before turning to see Bella. She was already in a state of shock, her fear once again taking hold of her senses. "Bella, please, you need to stand up to your fear! Scry is doing what she can, but she won't last long without your help", he pleaded, hating being so brash to her while she was so weak but also feeling the situation was too dangerous for soft speech.
While Xeni had his hands full with Bella, Scry instead opted to fight on her own. Her opponent had now hurt both Bella and herself, and she planned to enact justice. There was no way she could be happy with such a threat as the Demon Pokemon. The Absol sprinted forward towards the Ponyta, raising a claw up to use Scratch against her Leer-weakened foe.

Bella flinched as Xeni's voice reached her ears, her eyes focusing and shooting toward him before becoming glassy as she fell back into her fear. She whimpered, squeezing Jacob to her chest as she shook. "No. No. No." She muttered quickly, repeating the word like a broken record. She clutched Jacob even tighter, causing the Teddiursa to awake.
<Momma?> Jacob blinked sleepily, slowly becoming aware of everything around him. He registered the fear in Bella's eyes and frowned, his head swiveling as he tried to find the source of her fear. He found it quickly, and his frown deepened as he glared at the Demon Ponyta. <Leave Momma alone!> He growled, brandishing his claws as he leapt forward in a Scratch attack.
Bella slowly seemed to register that Jacob had left her, her eyes focusing once more as she blinked down at her empty arms. "Jacob?" She muttered in dazed confusion. She looked up, her eyes widening and her face paling as she saw the Teddiursa rushing toward the Demon Pokemon. "Jacob!" She cried with worry, immediately springing to her feet. She was about to rush forward and grab the baby Pokemon, but as her eyes fell upon the Ponyta, she froze once more, her fear beginning to take over again. "Jacob..." She bit her lip in worry, her hand trembling as she reached forward. "Don't..."

The Demon Ponyta had not had enough time to retreta after hitting the Absol with its Tackle attack but it decided to stay where it was and take the Absol's attack. Watching it sprint at him, the Ponyta simply took on the Scratch attack and neighed again. But then something unexpected happened, another Scratch attack hit its leg and it turned to look at the Teddiursa evilly. It shifted its focus from the Absol and charged at the little Teddiursa in a Tackle attack, trying to use its size to punish the little bear Pokemon. Meanwhile the Skitty rushed to Bella's side, <Please you gotta snap out of it! Your Teddiursa needs you! Hurry!>

((OOC: Hope you don't mind if I get in the way of that attack )) HP- 7/20
Given that Bella was still frightened senseless from the mere sight of the Demon Ponyta, it was surprising to both Xeni and Scry that Jacob had jumped up on his own to protect her. The instinctive urge to defend his trainer was stronger than could have possibly been expected, after seeing the Teddiursa sleeping in Bella's arms mere moments before.
However, despite his bravery, the Ponyta was still a dangerous force, and now Jacob was around to be an easy target. Inspired by the Tedddiursa's courage, Scry ran forward to jump in the way of the next forceful Tackle. The Ponyta slammed into her, sending her flying into a nearby tree for a significant amount of extra damage. It hurt badly, but deep down the Absol knew it was worth it.
Their actions were more than enough to impress Xeni. For freshly hatched Pokemon, they were fighting like seasoned combatants. However, that didn't excuse the fact that Scry was badly hurt, and the Demon Ponyta was intent on ensuring she didn't survive much longer. "Scratch again!", Xeni commanded, hoping Jacob would take the hint in case Bella herself couldn't give a command herself. Scry complied, forgetting her pain to run in for another scratch on the Demon Pokemon.

Bella still shook, biting her lip. "I... I can't..." She mumbled to the Skitty. "I can't!" She shook her head wildly taking a step backward. She spared a glance upward, to try and coax Jacob back to her, but froze in place once more, fear overtaking her. But for a different reason. "No, Jacob!" Bella shouted, her voice cracking slightly as she watched the Demon Pokemon charge at the baby Teddiursa. "No!" She couldn't move. 'Move, dang it Bella!' She shouted at herself. 'Jacob needs you! Move!'
Jacob froze as well, his eyes growing large at the sight of the red and black Ponyta charging full speed toward him. He flinched, waiting for the pain, but was surprised to hear a yelp instead. He blinked, turning just in time to watch as Scry was blasted into a tree. <Momma!> He wailed, looking to Bella with tear-filled eyes.
Bella was frozen, not because of fear, but because of shock, relief, as well as guilt. Her eyes were trained on Scry, relief coursing through her as she shakily smiled. "Thank you, Scry." She mumbled softly, her eyes hardening as her smile faded to a grim line. She glared darkly at the Ponyta, aware of nothing but Jacob, Scry, the Demon Ponyta, and her anger. "Nobody, and I mean nobody," She hissed, her eyes narrowing as her fists clenched. "Hurts my Jacob!" She fell into a battle stance, her eyes still narrowed into a glare. "Jacob, use Scratch!" She ordered.
Jacob nodded, smiling lightly as he brandished his claws. He raced forward, making sure to stay out of Scry's way, as he attacked.

HP- 6/20 Defense (-1)
The Demon Ponyta paused after her attack hit the Absol instead of the Teddiursa, her eyes becoming strangely clear and the red in them diminishing, becoming more hazel. The Ponyta gave a slightly confused glance to Xeni and Bella, then to her two opponents, finally falling on the Skitty. The Ponyta opened her mouth and closed it again, seeming to be trying to form words. <Skitty... wha...> she managede to get out, but then suddenly her eyes became blood red and foggy once more, and she glared at the two Pokemon that were rushing at her with attacks.
The Demon Ponyta dodged Scry's attack, but could not get out of the way of the Teddiursa's. She was hit by the scratch, again on her leg, the only part of her body the small bear Pokemon could easily reach. The Demon Ponyta did not even seem to care that it was hurt, and did not even seem to register the fact that she had been hit, though there was a clear limp as she charged toward the Absol, again trying to attack the dark-type.

It was there. For a brief moment, the Ponyta had managed to regain control, as Scry's selfless maneuver had evidently sparked the calm spirit inside the Demon Pokemon. However, that personality wasn't to last, as Xeni knew and Scry had already guessed. When the Ponyta snapped back into her wild state, they were prepared to put up a fight.
Thankfully, they wouldn't be alone. Bella had finally joined the fight! "Glad to see you up and fighting!", Xeni said in the brief moment he had before the Demon Ponyta could make a move. When she charged, as Xeni expected, he already had a plan of action. It was risky, but if it worked, there was no way the Ponyta could dodge their next attack.
"JUMP!", he barked at Scry, mere moments before the Tackle would connect. Without any hesitation, the Dark-type leaped forward, just barely high enough to fly above the Ponyta. Time seemingly slowed to a crawl as she realized exactly what to do. In the split second the Absol had, she twisted down to swipe at the Demon Ponyta's side in an attempt to not merely Scratch it, but perhaps even knock it over. That could easily end the fight.

HP - 20/20 -----------
Bella was lost in her anger, her eyes narrowed at the Demon Ponyta. She would get that Pokemon back. No one tried to hurt Jacob! But she froze, her eyes widening as the Ponyta suddenly changed, right before her eyes.
The Demon Ponya's eyes lost the angry look. She seemed to be calm, albeit confused. Making Bella jsut as confused.
"What..." Bella, watched the Pokemon, flinching as it suddenly relapsed and Jacob's attack hit it. She bit her lip, her resolve to fight diminishing slightly. But she had to. For Jacob. Bella's eyes flashed, remembering the the moments that had passed as the Ponyta had charged at Jacob, and the pleading look her had sent her. "I have too." She frowned, summoning her anger back. "Jacob, Scratch, but be careful!" She called eyeing Scry as he scratched at the Demon Ponyta to knock it over.
Jacob smiled and nodded, rushing forward, claws out as he attacked.

HP- 0/20 FAINTED
The Demon Ponyta turned to face the Absol, ignoring the small Teddiursa. The Absol was closer to being knocked out, and the Demon Ponyta saw her as more of a threat. With another angry snort, the Ponyta charged forward as well, trying to hit the Absol head on as they both charged. The Pokemon could not have been more confused if the Absol had vanished when Scry jumped just a second before their collision. As such, the Pokemon was still staring dumbfounded at the spot where the dark-type had been mere moments earlier when Scry hit her with the Scratch attack from above.
The force of the blow made the Demon Pokemon stumble, and her injured leg could not support her. She fell to the ground forcefully, and tried desperately to get back to her feet. She had little strength left after the Scratch attack and the fall, and as she struggled to rise, Jacob scratched her vulnerable belly area. She gave a last snort of pin, then slipped away into unconsciousness.
The Skitty moved a bit closer to her friend, but she was afraid to get to close. <P-p-ponyta? W-what happened to you???> the normal-type asked, tears forming in her eyes. She couldn't help it; she began to cry.

After landing, Scry turned back to find that her Scratch had had the desired effect. The Demon Ponyta had been taken down, and Jacob went in to ensure that she didn't get back up again. For the moment, it was a sign of relief, that the battle was over. However, Scry and the rest of her team couldn't help but feel sorry for the fallen Ponyta. It wasn't like she chose to become a Demon Pokemon and attack her friend. Something far more sinister was afoot.
Xeni walked up to his Absol with Potion in hand, not wanting his brave partner to waste any more energy. "Good job, you performed brilliantly", he said quietly as he sprayed the medicine on her battered body. <Thanks...I was glad to help protect you and my friends>, Scry replied as she felt her energy slowly returning. It had been hard to fight for the first time in such a dangerous fight, but she knew her trainer was right to trust her, and she him.
That business taken care of, the small assembly got back into order: Tao ran over to be at Xeni's side, while Sage climbed back onto Scry's back now that she should be healed again. Now that everything was back to normal for the group, it was time to look after their new friend and her regretfully afflicted friend.
"Ponyta is now a Demon Pokemon", Xeni started, "and for now will remain in this feral state. I'm not sure how it happened, but she can be cured. You need to try your best to re-establish your friendship with her, so her normal personality can return. It won't be easy, but since we're here, Bella and I could try to help." Admittedly, Xeni wasn't entirely sure he could help, but Bella needed experience with Demon Pokemon, and this seemed the safest opportunity they would have for a while.

OoC - This was, orginally, just supposed to be a quick post to keep us going. xD Than it transformed into this huge 800 word post about Bella coming to realize things... Around like, 500 words I decided to just go with it and used it to give myself an excuse as to why I've ended up RPing Bella so differently than how she was originally supposed to be. xD
-------------
Bella watched with a wary eye, her eyes set carefully on the fainted body of the Demon Ponyta as she gathered Jacob into her arms, hugging him to her chest as she bit her lip. it was strange, this feeling. She knew Jacob was a Pokemon, that he could protect himself. But he was also just a baby, barely born into the world. Her maternal instincts had taken over, not allowing her fear to let her just sit back and allow Jacob to get hurt. In her mind, he needed to be protected. But she knew she had to let him fight when he wished, as well. "Thank you for protecting Mommy, Jacob." Bella whispered into the Teddiursa's ear.
Jacob smiled, giggling lightly as he squirmed out of her arms. He quickly sat himself on her shoulder, using one paw to carefully secure himself. <I'm okay, Momma!> He announced with a grin.
Bella laughed, quickly adjusting to his weight. He was alright, though he could have easily been hurt, if it hadn't been for a Scry. She shot said Absol a thankful look, her eyes shining as she smiled.
As Xeni spoke, Bella drew closer to him, still keeping an eye on the Ponyta. She had been confronted with her fear, and was able to fight against it, yes, but only when Jacob had been threatened. She shivered, sighing to herself. Her fear would be a problem on their journey, there was no doubt about that. Her inability to fight, it could have potentially done a lot of harm, to both herself, her Pokemon, and even Xeni and his Pokemon.
The thought made her eyes widen, images of her Pokemon appearing in her mind's eye. Momo, Hiroki, Edward, Loki, and Jacob. What if they were hurt because she couldn't focus in a fight against a Demon Pokemon? Her thoughts continued on the same track, her eyes flashing as she cast a quick look to Xeni, Sage, Tao, and Scry, staring at each of them individually. Xeni and Scry had already shown they would protect her when she or her Pokemon couldn't protect themselves, and Bella had no doubt that his other Pokemon would do the same, if they were anything like him. So they were at risk as well. All because of HER fear.
Bella frowned, her thoughts racing. She snapped out of her thought just in time to hear Xeni volunteer her to help the two Pokemon out. She barely had to resist the urge to snap at him, the realization of this hitting her.
It was strange, how attached to him she had gotten in such a short amount of time. Had he been any other person, she would have snapped at him for volunteering her for something without her consent. It wasn't because she didn't want to help, but more because she hated being told what to do after so long with her Mother. She would have been angry. She would have yelled. She would probably have started an argument. But she didn't. And that was what scared her.
Bella had known since the beginning that during the course of her Pokemon journey, she would have changed from the person she was. But she didn't think it would be so quick, and so drastic. Some things were inevitable, like her fear of Demon Pokemon. But the other changes, the smaller ones that at first seemed so insignificant, were strange to her, foreign. And it was Xeni who had prompted them, somehow. It scared her, that someone she practically just met, and barely knew, could affect her so much.
Bella's thoughts bounced around in her head, moving wildly as she analyzed everything that came to mind, everything that had happened to her since she had come to the decision to leave her home.
On her shoulder, Jacob was oblivious as he looked around with slight curiosity, giving everything around him a once over. <Hey, Momma,> Jacob, tugged lightly at her bangs, starting curiously up at a cloud. But when he received no answer, he looked down, pouting slightly. <Momma!> He cried, tugging slightly harder. But Bella was lost to the world, too caught up in her racing thoughts. Jacob waved his arms, tears pooling in his eyes. <Momma!> He hollered loudly, sniffling as he attempted to get her attention. It worked.
Bella jumped slightly, wincing as Jacob's paw smacked her in the head. "Oh, Jacob! Mommy's here, it's okay!" She smiled, taking Jacob into her arms once more. But she was quiet, her smile barely there, her eyes trained on the sky distractedly.

Despite the two humans and their Pokemon, and the Ponyta's friend, moving closer to her, the Demon Pokemon did not stir. She was fully unconcious, though for how much longer was uncertain. The Skitty choked back her tears, still looking at the Ponyta, but nodded gratefully at Xeni's words.
<Really? You would really help my friend?> the small kitten Pokemon asked, astonishedly looking from Xeni to Bella and back again. She had not expected such kindness from humans... especially not trainers. The Skitty was surprised, but nonetheless extremely grateful, and her gratitude showed clearly on her face, making her next words somewhat redundant. <Thank you both, so much!! I-I don't know how to thank you...>" she said, tears momentarily springing back to her eyes.
Meanwhile, up in the cloud that the Teddiursa had been looking at, and the one which Bella gazed at as she turned her eyes to the sky, something odd was hapening. The cloud seemed to have a shadow in it, strangely shaped and moving. There was a sudden flash of blue, and light seemed to eminate from the fluffy white expanse. It seemed to be the sun, but it couldn't have been because the sun was on the other side of the sky in the west, beginning to make its progress into the horizon, only an hour or so from sunset.
Then, suddenly, there was a white streak that shot across the sky from the cloud, shooting in the direction of another. But, the streak stoped halfway to the other cloud, and was discernable as a dog-looking creature with a pure white coat and a fluffy blue tail. It had fluffy blue fur on its chest, head, and around its ankles as well, and the fur resembled the clouds as it flowed in the air. The creature was regarding the group, and, though they could not hope to see it from the distance, was wearing a smile.
A minute later it resumed its trek across the sky, and then in the blink of an eye it was gone. Whatever it was, it had shown interest in those gathered on the ground, in all the Pokemon, and especially in the two humans.

"Don't thank us yet, we still have to think of a way to help her", Xeni replied to the Skitty's joyful exclamation. He still wasn't sure what exactly he could do to help. If the Ponyta had just been converted to a Demon Pokemon, than it would likely take a while to cure her. What's worse is that she wouldn't stay unconcious forever. If action wasn't taken, they could be attacked again, or the Ponyta might even try to run away.
Perhaps Bella could provide some inspiration? Xeni turned to his friend, only to find her staring off into the sky. Curious, he turned his gaze upwards himself, but he only saw clouds in the great blue expanse. Then, there seemed to be a flash of light as a streak of cloud raced through the sky. It was odd enough a sight before it stopped and revealed it's true form: a Pokemon.
This was something new, a Pokemon he'd never seen before. Was this a species native to Laokia? Not only that, but it looked majestic, powerful, even legendary. However, he couldn't be certain what it was at such a great distance, and in another flash it raced away into the horizon. Why had it stopped? Could it have been looking at them, a pair of novice trainers and their Pokemon? It seemed improbable, but who could say?
"That was...incredible...", Xeni said as he continued looking at the sky, somehow hoping there was something more to see. In all his years exploring the world, he hadn't seen anything else quite like it. Perhaps it was a sign of good things to come? He'd have to wait to find out. For now, something more pressing was on their hands, and action had to be taken.
Tearing his eyes away from the sky, Xeni tried to focus his mind on the task at hand. "I think we can cure Ponyta, but it's going to take time. I'm afraid we won't have that time unless one of us captures her", Xeni said warily both to Skitty and Bella. It was a rough truth, but one that he felt was inescapable. He wanted nothing more than to see Skitty and Ponyta able to play together again in the wild, but it just didn't seem like it would be possible. "So, is that ok?", Xeni continued as he inconspicuously patted his pocket, making sure he had a Pokeball at hand in case he had to make a quick capture.

Bella watched the sky, her eyes calmly following the white streak, her eyes widening in awe as she realized it was a Pokemon. Even if she could barely make out the creature before her, she could tell it was different than most Pokemon. It's mere presence gave off a feeling of power, though she felt no surge of fear as she gazed upon it's white form. She didn't know what exactly she could call the feeling, though she could associate it, perhaps, to the feeling many gained if they were lucky enough to set their eyes on a Legendary Pokemon.
"It would make sense." Bella mused, seemingly unaware that she was speaking aloud. "Every region seems to have their own legends. Zapdos, Articuno, and Moltres of Kanto. Suicune, Entei, and Raikou of Jhoto. Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza of Hoenn. Dialga and Palkia of Sinnoh. Why should Laokia be any different?" She smiled faintly, her eyes finally leaving the sky when there was no trace of the mysterious being.
On her shoulder, Jacob had fallen quiet, though that could be attributed to the fact that he was blinking sleepily ahead, his eyes falling shut every few seconds before they sprang open again, bringing a smile to Bella's face. As Xeni spoke to the Skitty, she carefully lay Jacob's head on her shoulder, holding him comfortably against her. Without a distraction, Bella's gaze once again slipped to the unconscious Demon Pokemon, a shiver running through her. Whether she liked it or not, that Pokemon was coming with them, though it was still undecided as to exactly who would take her.
"I'm... I'm sure she can be cured." Bella muttered, looking to the Skitty. "Lord Umbreon was able to cure... Aeron's Demon Pokemon..." She fought back a shudder, remembering her encounter with Bandit. "There's got to be a way to help her..." She kept her gaze on the Normal type, unwilling to let her gaze wander. The thought of the Demon Pokemon coming along sent chills down her spine. But the thought of leaving the Ponyta in the wild seemed wrong, not just because others could be hurt, but because the mere thought of abandoning the Pokemon due to circumstance beyond her control, went against everything she believed in.

The Skitty kept her bright smile even after Xeni's words, happy that at least the two humans wanted to help her friend. However, her expression turned to one of curiosity as Xeni turned is eyes to the sky. She looked from him to Bella, and back again, wondering what they could be looking at. By the time that she looked up, all the kitten Pokemon saw was a flash of white light that could have been her imagination.
The Skitty looked away from the sky, shaking his head. He figured that the two must have been looking at something, but whatever it was it was gone. He smiled happily again, waiting to see what Xeni or Bella would say next. However, he was slightly shocked at what Xeni asked him, though he couldn't say that he was too surprised. He had suspected that it would be necessary to capture the Ponyta, he just hadn't wanted to admit it to himself.
At first, the Skitty was unable to form the words to reply. He didn't want to lose his friend like that... Yet, he knew that there was little choice if the Ponyta was to be healed. The Skitty almost didn't hear when Bella spoke, but managed to catch it. He could tell that she was scared of the Ponyta, and yet she still wanted to help... He knew that these humans were trustworthy, but he was still sad to say goodbye. Though, he wasn't sure if the Ponyta would be able to understand it if he did say his farewells.
Suddenly, the Skitty was struck with an idea. <Okay, but... Can I please come along too?> he asked hopefully. It didn't matter which trainer wanted to take him, he just hoped that they would accept. Other than the Ponyta, he had no one else, and just the thought of leaving he brought tears to his eyes. He pushed them back, putting on a brave face. It would be nice to get out and see the world, and once his friend was back to normal... they could enjoy great adventures together. The thought was not unappealing.
A little bit after the Skitty spoke, the Ponyta seemed to come too. Red eyes opened, having a hint of soft brown, and without that haze that had clogged them. She seemed to be thinking clearly, and looked at the humans and then at the skitty with a confused look in her eyes. She opened her jaw to speak, but no sound came out.
From the sky, a ray of sunlight shone from behind a cloud, landing precisely on the Ponyta. But, it couldn't be sunlight; The sun was low in the sky, and the light came from right above their heads. Also, the light was somewhat strange, being of a whitish hue rather than a yellow. It came from the very cloud that a minute or so earlier the strange Pokemon had disappeared into.
As the light hit the Ponyta, her black coat seemed to shine, and sparkle, then, slowly, it too started to become white. The white spread, covering every part of the horse Pokemon that had been black, then the red of her flames changed too, light blue coloring seeming to flow out from the base to the tips, and even her hooves changed along with the flames. The Ponyta blinked her red eyes, and when they were opened again they were a bright green, filled with hope.
The Ponyta slowly, non-threateningly, rose to her feet. She gave a soft whinny, one that held none of the malice it had earlier. Still, the Pokemon looked a littl confused, but she seemed to recognize the Skitty. <What happened? Skitty? Why do you look like you're afraid of me...?> the Pokemon asked innocently, truly not remembering anything she did while she was a Demon Pokemon.
The Skitty had been slowly backing away from the Ponyta, frightened. He was not scared the same way as before, and no longer feared an attack from his friend, but... He was still afraid, more from shock than anything else. He pulled himself to after the Ponyta spoke, and managed to bring back his exhuberant smile. <You're okay!!!> he said as he approached his friend. He couldn't say anything else, he was too happy to evenb think clearly any longer.
At the Skitty's happiness, the Ponyta appeared at first relieved, then her face suddenly lit up, as if she was struck by a realization. Right then she knew all that had happened, and somehow even knew the conversation that had gone on while she was unconcious. She somehow knew that her kitten friend had looked forward to the adventures they would have together, and she didn't want to disappoint her friend. Also, she realized that the two trainers were likely the kindest and most good-hearted ones they would meet for a while. Something told her that staying in the wild in her present condition would be a danger not only to herself, but to her Skitty friend as well.
The Ponyta bent her neck and whispered to the Skitty, keeping her voice low so the two humans wouldn't hear. <So, did you still want to go on those adventures?> The Skitty was shocked, but nodded happily anyway.
The Ponyta turned to the trainers, facing them in a way that she was not speaking directly to either of them, but rather to them both equally. <It would be an honor to travel with you, if you would have us,> she said, giving a little bow and holding the position.
The Skitty looked at the Ponyta, thinking her actions a bit odd, a little too dignified for the normally hyper horse, but he dismissed it. Even if she had changed a bit from this whole experience, at least she was no longer trying to kill them... The skitty nodded his consent and jumped up and down a couple times to show his enthusiasm for the idea.
